This material was originally created for a music video for a band from Brooklyn. As the project evolved, the material gravitated in a more classical direction. This dance now belongs to Vivaldi.
Ekaterine Giorgadze (GE/DE) studied classical ballet at the State Ballet School of Berlin and modern and contemporary dance at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. During her education she danced the role of Aurora in Sleeping Beauty by Jan Linkens at the Komische Oper Berlin. She was a guest dancer in Rite of Spring by Pina Bausch with the Tanztheater Wuppertal. She has been engaged by the Staatsoper and Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Staatstheater Kassel, La Compagnia dell‘Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome and the Stadttheater Giessen. She has worked with choreographers including Pina Bausch, Wayne McGregor, Jacopo Godani, Ismael Ivo, Robyn Orlin, Johannes Wieland, Lior Lev, Tarek Assam, David Williams and Mirko Hektor. During her engagement at the Stadttheater Giessen she choreographed two duets, A Closer Look and Das Grundgefühl. In her own choreographic creations, she is interested in blending different art forms together and exploring new methods for creative processes. She is inspired by film, music, visual arts, photography, theater and human behavior.
